PROFILE OF THE COLLEGE
St. Nektarios Orthodox College and Seminary (SNOCAS) is an institution of higher learning founded by the Holy Orthodox Metropolis of Mityana. The college offers Theological, Education, Teacher Training, and vocational skills programs aimed at forming knowledgeable, responsible, and self-reliant members of society.
All SNOCAS courses, study materials, and educational provisions meet Ugandan and international standards of good academic practice.
SNOCAS welcomes students from all tribes, races, regions, and political backgrounds, fostering an environment of unity, learning, and service.
BACKGROUND OF SNOCAS
The college was established in 2001 with the aim of equipping the Orthodox faithful with a solid knowledge of the Holy Orthodox Faith, Theology, and Christian service, while also providing vocational and practical skills that enable students to serve their communities and sustain their livelihoods through self-reliance.
Due to numerous requests from the wider community, the college later opened its programs to all members of the public, regardless of religious background.

MODE OF STUDY
- Weekend Schedule at SNOCAS
Lectures are conducted on weekends at the college. This arrangement enables learners who work from Monday to Friday to pursue their studies conveniently. - Day and Evening Schedule
Classes are conducted Monday to Friday for full-time students. - Distance e-Learning Schedule
Distance learning programs typically run for three (3) years and include the following modes:
i. Face-to-Face at SNOCAS
Students attend a two-week orientation, during which they study the curriculum, receive study materials, and are guided on scheduling self-study and examinations.
ii. Blended Online Study
Students are admitted and provided with online orientation and digital learning support.
iii. Self-Study
Students receive online orientation, study packs, and supervised examinations.
iv. Holiday / In-Service Schedule
This schedule is designed mainly for teachers and professionals who pursue academic programs during school holidays.
