
His Eminence Moses, Metropolitan of Germany, was born into the Syriac Monophysite Church of Antioch on June 5, 1981, in Germany, and he completed High School in the same country. At the age of 19 he was tonsured to monkhood, one year later he was consecrated a hieromonk. He finished his studies in theology, philosophy and psychology in Germany and Switzerland. In 2007, at the age of 26, he was consecrated Metropolitan Archbishop in the Syriac Monophysite Church. In 2012, by the grace of God, he established in Central Germany the monastery of Saint Gabriel the Archangel. This monastery is until now the only Orthodox monastery in Central Germany. Because of faith and dogmatic matters, he left the Monophysites and proclaimed that they are not the true church of Christ. So he converted to the Old Calendar Orthodox. Church in Greece in December 2016. On July 27 / August 9, 2023, His Beatitude Makarios of Athens and all Greece along with all the Hierarchs of the Holy Genuine Orthodox Church received His Eminence Moses into full communion and as a member of the Holy Synod. His Eminence Moses speaks fluently Old-Aramaic, New Aramaic (Syriac), German, English and he has good knowledge in Arabic.
