At St. Gregory Palamas Orthodox School, caring for the environment goes beyond classroom lessons; it is a core value that is nurtured through daily practice. Pupils are actively encouraged to plant and care for trees, maintain cleanliness, protect nature, and appreciate the importance of preserving Obutonde (God’s creation).
His Eminence Metropolitan Nektarios was delighted to witness the beautiful and well-maintained environment at St. Gregory Palamas Orthodox School, where lush greenery, fruit trees, and a strong spirit of discipline reflect the school’s commitment to environmental conservation.
Through these practical activities, the school is instilling a sense of responsibility, discipline, and environmental awareness among learners. The goal is not only to nurture academic excellence but also to raise responsible citizens who understand their role as stewards of God’s creation.
We believe that environmental conservation begins with the values we instil in our children today. By teaching them to respect and protect nature, we are preparing a generation that will contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Uganda.

We warmly welcome partners, environmental advocates, donors, and well-wishers to join us in this mission. Together, we can create a learning environment that nurtures young minds while promoting environmental sustainability.

Protecting God’s creation today is safeguarding the future of tomorrow.
